Artist Portfolio

Ty McCaig is a Saskatoon-based multimedia artist whose work spans photography, videography, cyanotype, collage, poetry and more. With experience in both digital and analog formats, Ty creates evocative, hand-developed film images, as well as cyanotype works that experiment with unique substrates and chemical reactions. Recently, Ty has focused on long-exposure techniques and fractal prism filters in live event photography, capturing dynamic, abstract representations of light and movement.

In addition to releasing multiple music videos and a mini-documentary, Ty self-published Reframe, a photobook in collaboration with Saskatoon-based artist Spookymadeit, as well as two volumes of Crate Diving: Analog Chronicles, a zine documenting the local music scene. Selected for the PAVED Arts Open Studio Program and the Bunkhouse Artist Residency, Ty continues to push creative boundaries with innovative and experimental techniques.
