About Us
Since its inception in 2018, Deathotel Creative (DHC) has curated a tapestry of artistic experiences, hosting numerous art installations, gallery exhibits, pop-up markets, and live events that captivate and inspire.
Born as a creative side venture of the collective’s President, Deathotel Creative (DHC) experienced a metamorphic evolution in 2024. This pivotal moment marked the collective’s transformative shift, as it transcended its initial roots to redefine itself as a dynamic and expansive large-scale art collective.
Undergoing this profound transformation, DHC emerged as a hub of innovation, collaboration, and boundless creativity, embracing a broader spectrum of artistic expressions and opening its doors to a diverse array of local talents. This reshaping reflects DHC’s commitment to constant growth and its unwavering dedication to fostering a vibrant and inclusive artistic community.

Ty McCaig
President, Treasurer
Ty McCaig is a Saskatoon-based multimedia artist whose work spans photography, videography, cyanotype, and more. Ty creates evocative, hand-developed film images, as well as cyanotype works that experiment with unique substrates and chemical reactions. He has also released several self-published photobooks. Selected for the AKA/PAVED Arts Open Studio Program and the Bunkhouse Artist Residency, Ty continues to push creative boundaries with innovative and experimental techniques.

Shannon Putnam
Vice-President, Development Director
Immersed in Saskatchewan’s vibrant music scene, Shannon Putnam emerges as a fervent champion of arts and music. With a storied past, she has orchestrated major festivals and events, creating a profound impact on the local music scene. Shannon’s unwavering commitment radiates through her tireless efforts to champion and uplift the flourishing arts community in Saskatchewan.

Al Roy
Artistic Director
Al Roy, an enduring presence in Canada’s music landscape, carries a storied legacy of performing across various musical groups. As a producer and host of concerts across Saskatoon, he’s a driving force behind fundraising events that have garnered substantial support for local charities. Al is passionately committed to enhancing accessibility to art and music, fostering an environment where artists thrive and communities connect through the transformative power of creative expression.

Sean Nimchuk
Artistic Director
Sean Nimchuk is a cornerstone of Saskatoon’s heavy music scene, known for his hands-on support with Crate Diving video shoots, local fundraising events, exhibits, and concerts. With a rich history performing across multiple musical projects, he has become an influential and respected figure, shaping and inspiring the local community through his dedication and integrity.
